Rewatched the battle in the Temporal Crossroads. Wingul’s speech after he sends everyone falling to the next level made me wonder…

Was his speech at that moment intentionally in Long Dau? Or was that a result of his brain being damaged by the booster?

The latter would be an interesting idea to see written out in a post-game fic.

Probably intentionally. It’s his mother tongue, it makes sense for him to use it in his dying moments.

A very good point! Mumbling his last thoughts aloud into oblivion…

Brilliant Athena strikes again. Please do write drabbles.

"Probably" is the case, though the brain is such a tricky organ that it wouldn’t be surprising if it was the latter. On the chance his brain got knocked to Saturn and back in the battle, the secondary language might’ve been kicked off the brain-curb altogether, if not for a brief moment. Either way, with Long Dau being his mother language, it should be easier for him to retrieve that particular skill compared to a secondary language under stress – more so if he prefers and thinks in Long Dau, which, at least in his booster form, he does.

If you think about it, whether he chose Long Dau out of exhaustion or out of his whacked brain defaulting to it (despite being fluent bilingually, which may imply Long Dau comes more naturally to him) speaks volumes about his nonconformist character, because nobody else really speaks it anymore. Forever alone.

Such a nonconformist that he even manages to die in a place that eventually ceases to exist. Forever alone indeed.

Subtlety is the name of the game and all I want to do is explode.

Rewatching one of Gaius’ chapters to take screenshots.

And Wingul sure did just throw his sword at a possible intruder!

I like to think Gaius wondered what the hell he was thinking, after everything was said and done.

Just imagined a fractured dimension where Gaius was the Lord of Spirits and the Chimeriad were the Four Great Elemental Spirits.

The thought of everyone’s reactions shouldn’t be so entertaining…

Tales of Xillia 2: Proposition

Spoilers for endgame. Sequel to Successor.

————————

They began drinking tea together when Li turned twelve.

There was no particular reason that they held off from doing so; the birthday occasion simply gave Rowen the opportunity to invite Li to his home, away from the prying eyes of the public. He watched in amusement as the boy appraised his furniture while feigning an indifferent expression, arranging teacups and teapot for their eventual sit-down.

Li Ying, as it turned out, was the only son of a Rieze Maxian mother and the illegitimate third son of an Elympion trader. There was noticeable disdain in Li’s voice as he spoke of his father, who he had last heard was out somewhere in Drellin, though it faded away as he focused instead on the parent who remained. His mother had worked as a maid at the Hotel Fenntasia, trying to make ends meet for most of his early life while he was watched by her coworkers.

Just playing around with skins… And then Gaius appeared.

Alvin: “Oh boy. I think you better stop with that transformation stuff, Ludger.”

The great thing about not having RP outlets for fandom ideas and ships is that I get frustrated to the point that I just say, “That’s it; I’m going to write it myself.”

Thus fanfics are born. …Even if they never quite get finished.
